Dorothy was born on February 13th, 1913. Dorothy's father was George Scott Kimbler and her mother was Maude Edna Morgan (Kimbler, Ross).  Her paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Greene Kimbler and Martha Melvina Collins (Kimbler, Back); her maternal grandparents were Benton Morgan and Mary Ann Haslett (Morgan). She had six brothers and four sisters, named Nathaniel, George, Charles, Pearlie, Willie, John, Mary, Mamie, Alice and Hattie.  She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named George, <Unknown>, Ruth, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  She died at the age of 64 on April 22nd, 1977.
