Oscar's father was Nathaniel Omar Kimbler and his mother was Effie Surginer (Kimbler). His paternal grandparents were AreFonzo Kimbler and Alice Tufts (Kimbler). He had two brothers and a sister, named Wayne, Warren and Carolyn. He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-sister. He died at the age of 65 on March 13th, 1987.
