His paternal grandparents were James Sarven and Sarah N Bloomfield (Sarven); his maternal grandparents were Charles Alfred McKenzie and Mary Anice Kimbler (McKenzie). He had three brothers and two sisters. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 58 on June 30th, 2002.
