Idella's father was Joseph Ellis Stephens and her mother was Susie Sophie Ramsey (Stephens). Her paternal grandparents were James Owens Stephens and Melissa Isabell Anna Acker (Stephens); her maternal grandparents were John H Ramsey and Mary E Sanders (Ramsey). She had a brother and a sister, named Herbert and Mary. She was the oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 85 on December 16th, 2003. She was buried on December 19th, 2003.
